The Perazzi Shotgun
We all know that Vice President Cheney shot an old man on a farm while trying to shoot pen-raised, slow moving birds with a 28-guage shotgun.
But what about the gun?
Cheney was using a Perazzi shotgun. Perazzi 28-guage shotguns are custom made shotguns that sell for over $20,000. Some of them go for as high as $41,000.00!!
$41,000 approaches the 75th percentile for annual wages for a male in our society. These bastards are so utterly out of touch with the average American worker, it's not even funny.
We couldn't have written a better metaphor if we tried.
They overspend on guns. They shoot at the wrong targets. They injure innocent people.
The perfect metaphor indeed.

Quail are wild and not pen raised. Pheasants are pen raised and move slower than quail because they are bigger but they still move plenty fast. As far as hunting goes, quail and pheasant hunting is very similar. The pheasant are not shot in the pen, they are let loose and they live in the wild until they either get shot or survive to breed. Where did you get the pen raised quail info from? Perhaps they were pen raised but I've never heard of it. Either way if pen raised they aren't shot in the pen and are not tame as a result of the pen raising. I am in no way defending Cheney, he is the supreme asshole, but as a hunter I like to see accurate facts put before the people regarding a much maligned sport.

I don't know anything about hunting, but every time I've seen quail, they're walking along slowly in a group. Shooting them seems about as sporting as walking up to an old lady with a cane and punching her in the face.
In any case Cheney's an asshole.
