Bulldog, I just linked to your post. The Independent now as an article up as well. I think within a couple of days, this will be a big story in the news media (but not the American MSM).

Sorry, but White Phosphorous is not a "chemical weapon", as defined by any treaty, convention or law. It is not outlawed anywhere by anybody.

It is used primarily for smoke and illumination, and also to attack targets in situations where explosive/fragmentation rounds are ineffective. It starts fires, which works quite well against bunkered and fortified buildings. In other words, it was used exactly the way it was supposed to be used and has been used since at least World War II.

The article which says that bodies were burned but clothes were left intact is full of crap. WP burns anything and everything it touches, and I mean TOUCHES. You have to be touched by the actual substance..the smoke does nothing but maybe make you cough a lot.

By the way, I have used WP grenades from an M203, so I know for a fact how all this works, including the nonsense "150 meter" kill radius. It's more like ten.

Try a little education on military matters for once before you spout. I know, facts aren't usually the liberal way, but there it is.

As usual CSC, while you sit around making arguments about whether, for instance, WP is a chemical or incendiary device, people are being burned alive.

Who cares whether it's technically considered a chemical or incendiary device-- its just plain wrong. Period. You don't kill people indiscriminantly, and WP, as you surely know, when used in such a manner as in Fallujah, will kill without discretion.

While you sit around in your home in the USA, kids are being burned alive. You don't give a shit though, after all, every brown man is a fucking terrorist to you, right?

It sounds like the same kind of rationalizing that is being used to justify torture in the Cheney/Bush concentration camps. For some reason these people have lost all sense of right and wrong.
